So, what stopped you from moving forward with it? After all, detoxes are all the craze. You see them on TV, here about them on the radio, see them advertised, but there has always been that little question in your mind if this will work for you or not.

Let’s be honest. There might be a detox craze right now, but most detox programs are just crazy. The juice detox, the colon cleanse detox, and the “take this supplement” detox are all just a few examples. If you have been hesitant of all of these types of programs, let me compliant you by saying that your intuition has served you well. None of these are supporting your body’s own detox mechanisms. My guess is that no one has even told you that. Your body has its own detox systems. If you give them what they need, you will detox every day.

At its core, a successful “clean up” strategy for your body begins with a successful detox diet plan. The golden rule of detoxing is eat the foods that keep your detox system churning full steam ahead.

Since you and I have established that there is no replacement for the simplicity of diet for detoxing, aren’t you just a little bit curious about how to fine tune the process? Surely you would like to know how to get the most out of a detox and kick your metabolism into gear and feel more energetic, right? Core Essential #1 – Going Gluten Free is Not the Answer
Eliminate All Grains. A detox diet plan only works if you eliminate the foods that are the most toxic. Love it or not, grains are toxic. They are sprayed with chemicals that slowly take your body apart from head to toe. By the way, that is not an exaggeration. The most notorious example is glyphosate. You probably know it by a different name, Roundup. Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, cancer, autism, anxiety, kidney failure and many more are all linked to glyphosate. If it will contribute to these horrific conditions, do you think it will contribute to poor detoxification? I hope you are subconsciously nodding your head yes. Not only is it a toxin, it hinders the actual detox process. It makes the problem multiple times worse. You have to eliminate the grains. If you are not going to do this, please just stop reading now and go indulge in a sandwich. I want to help you, but your detox diet plan cannot be successful with grains.
Core Essential #2 – Eat More, Not Less
Eat More. In fact, eat as much as you want. Go ahead, have an extra serving or two. Bet that doesn’t sound anything like what you have heard before. Remember, I told you from the start, this article is not about hype. It’s about what works and giving your body what it needs. How many health starving people have you ever seen. If you said none, that makes two of us. Starving your body is not the answer. You should be eating an abundance of food. I am not suggesting to become a glutton and gorge yourself on food. I am saying that you should eat lots of nutrient rich vegetables that are going to enhance the eliminate of toxins from your body. No good detox diet plan ever began with limiting food intake. Your body has requirements and you can only meet them by providing it with food. The more food and fiber moving through, the more opportunities to eliminate toxins.
Core Essential #3 – Eat More Carbs
Eat Carbohydrates. Still cutting the carbohydrates thinking that it is going to help you lose that midsection bulge that didn’t used to be there? Hasn’t worked yet has it. And let’s be honest, doesn’t the sound of more carbohydrates in your diet sound good. I bet your husband will appreciate it also as you are more pleasant to be around with more carbohydrates in your diet. Here’s the skinny on carbohydrates. They are not all bad. Refined, processed, toxic laden carbohydrates are a problem. Only eating carbohydrates is a problem. Carbohydrates from starchy vegetables reasonably consumed as part of your detox diet plan and not the whole diet is a good idea. If I told you that you needed carbohydrates to assist your body’s detox systems, would that persuade you to add a few more to your diet? I hope so. Just remember, starchy vegetables.
Core Essential #4 – Add Some Sizzle to Your Detox Diet
Eat Protein. What’s the most important part of the diet to include in your detox diet plan? If you said protein, you nailed it! Protein is essential for detoxification. In fact, if you keep protein out of your diet, within 24 hours, you are going to see a reduction in your detoxification ability. Many of the detox systems are highly dependent on protein. While everyone else is focused on more and more fiber to help detox, adding protein is going to supercharge toxin elimination. Just make sure your protein source is grass-fed or wild caught.
